Actions and Color Settings. The CD ROM will work on
either Windows OR Macintosh.

Is Ultra Image Compatible with Adobe Photoshop
Elements?
Ultra Image is not compatible with Adobe Photo Elements
or any other image editing program. Ultra Image
only works with Adobe Photoshop 6.0 or higher.
Why
should I buy Ultra Image if I have
a good
camera and take good pictures?
All
digital images will benefit from some sharpening
and post-processing. Recording an image on
a CCD or scanner always introduces some amount
of ‘unsharpness’ in the picture.
Ultra Images uses some advanced subject-specific
sharpening techniques to enhance the image.
Many digital photographs will end up being
used in print or on the web. Ultra Image assists
in the process of profiling and converting
images to their final intended use.
Why
there are different versions and different cameras
profiled?
About
ninety percent of Ultra Image is the same for all
camera brands, but the author of the actions wanted
to ensure that color and noise characteristics
of specific camera brands and models was taken
into consideration. The most important variable
is the megapixel size of the image. No one wants
to oversharpen an 2-megapixel image or undersharpen
a 5-megapixel image. The author, Mike White – a
photographer with more than a decade’s worth
of digital photography experience, has found these
techniques useful when working with a wide variety
of cameras. He wrote the actions to streamline
his workflow and so his employees would give him
consistent post-processing. In
general, using a different camera brand at
a comparable megapixel size will still improve
an image, but the best results will come from
the Ultra Image package for your specific camera
model.
How
is Ultra Image different from other similar products?
Ultra
Images is a suite of actions that automate what
you could already do in Adobe Photoshop if you
had the same level of experience with the program
and with working with digital camera images. Some
of the actions execute as many as forty steps,
having to remember the steps in the correct sequence
is difficult for even the most focused Photoshopper.
Since these actions use core technologies of Photoshop,
they are compatible with Photoshop 6, 7 and CS
on Mac or Windows. These actions give novices some
recipes for advanced image processing techniques.
More experienced users will benefit from having
an easily-customizable suite of actions that will
give consistent results without investing a lot
of time to write the actions.
Will
UltraImage work with Photoshop CS?
Yes. UltraImage is compatible with Adobe Photoshop
6, 7 and CS.
Does UltraImage support RAW, TIFF or
PSD (Photoshop files)?
Ultra Image expects an 8 or 16-bit RGB file. It can
be saved in any format. The Actions say JPG in their
titles solely because JPG is the most common format
used by digital cameras. You can use the Actions on
other file formats, as long as they are in the RGB
color mode.
Where is the Goodies Folder?
The
Goodies folder is usually located in the Adobe
Photoshop folder on Mac systems. If you do not
have a Goodies folder for some reason, you can
simply create one or copy the Action files to another
folder that is convenient for you. |
